Finally a Launch Date for the Website

It's coming...

If you’re new to this newsletter, you might not realize this, but an online component to this ministry has been in the works since the start of this year.

On February 3, I purchased the domain name for WeirdStuffInTheBible.com (which has nothing there right now other than a “coming soon” page).

In fact, it was just about ready to launch in mid-February, but then something happened that screeched everything to a halt. I was asked to fill in as the Interim Pastor at a church in Northwest Arkansas which was going through a transition. I knew this was something God was wanting me to do, yet I didn’t want to launch a whole new ministry endeavor (the website) while I was in such a busy season. So about 6 weeks ago, I put the website plans on pause.

Recently, I was given a projected end date to this busy season. The new pastor will likely take over around the beginning of June, at which point the church will no longer need me.

Though I’ve only been at this about 5 or 6 weeks, it has been such a rewarding and fulfilling season for me. And I ask for a prayer covering from you all as I try to finish this assignment well- especially with Resurrection Sunday coming up in just a few weeks.

It’s kind of a big deal. Second-biggest holiday of the year. Please agree with me in prayer that I don’t screw this up.

So when is the website coming?

Oh yeah. So I decided I don’t want to wait that long to launch this website. I’m going to go ahead and try to launch the site on May 3-4, 2025.

(I give two days for the launch because when you launch a website, it can take 24-48 hours for it to become visible across the interwebz. So if I tell the site to go live on May 3, you should be able to access it on Sunday, May 4. So I will send out an email newsletter that day to let you all know that the site is officially up).

Coincidentally, on the most important holiday of the year.

Or maybe not so coincidentally.

Of course, remember that, as Yoda said, “Always in motion is the future.” While May 3-4 looks like a prime target date right now, I have no idea what could take place between now and then. It could potentially be pushed back.

But the best place to stay updated is right here on this newsletter.

I don’t even think I’ve said anything about this on the podcast yet. You all are the only ones to know about it.

Exciting times!

Latest episode: What did Jesus mean by “You Are Gods” in John 10?

In case you missed it, our latest episode came out this past Wednesday. You can listen here.

Or clicking right here.

It wraps up a three-part miniseries I was doing on the Divine Council.

I probably should have stretched it out because it’s proven pretty popular. Episode 69, right before this one (called “How God Uses the Divine Council to Rule the World”) hit a new record for day-one downloads on the podcast. (Since I’m typing this before episode 70 releases, I don’t know how that one did yet.)

I am so thankful that you all help this podcast continue to grow! You can catch up on any of the three previous episodes by clicking their images below.

Next Time… April 9

And next week I am following up on two past miniseries on the podcast: one, about the Prophet Balaam, who I spoke about in episodes 16-18; and two, about portals in the Bible, which I just covered on episodes 61-64.

I’ll be tying some of those things together to answer the question: was Balaam trying to create portals (or gates of hell) when he considered cursing Israel in Numbers 22-25?

And we’ll also be answering the question: what is the Doctrine of Balaam that Revelation 2 warns us about? (Revelation 2:12-17)

I will TRY to cover all that in one episode. But we’ll see how it goes.

Blessings!
