INFOGRAPHIC: A Timeline from Creation to the Flood
The insights you see when you map out Genesis 5
The Latest Episode: The Days of Jared
Hope your Sunday has been amazing so far! This week on the podcast, we entered into one of my favorite overlooked chapters of the Bible: Genesis 5. This chapter contains crucial information about the pre-flood world, and is further illuminated by the history shared in Enoch 6.
I said this info is overlooked because it’s one of those -yawn- genealogy chapters. And while those aren’t always fun, this one has got to be the exception. There is so much fascinating information revealed in the meanings of these names.
If you missed the episode, check it out here:
However, since that subject deals so much with timelines and can be kind of complicated, I thought it would be helpful if I mapped it all out for you. And by the way, if you did miss the episode, you can now listen to it right alongside this (hopefully helpful) infographic:

A few insights when we see the whole timeline
We see a few surprises (or things that were surprising to me) when you get the whole timeline mapped out.
Adam’s life extended long enough to live alongside each of these descendants mentioned in Genesis 5- other than Noah. That means, potentially, Enoch could have had conversations with Adam himself about what life was like in the Garden of Eden.
Methuselah died in the year of the flood (as we covered in this week’s episode). Lamech, Noah’s father, made it almost to the flood; he died 5 years before.
One element of my timeline is highlighting the Days of Jared- the span of time when the Watchers descended on Mount Hermon. Even though we don’t know the exact year, we can narrow it down to this window as when they visited. This means the bloodline of the Nephilim/giants was able to proliferate on planet earth for more than 1,000 years before the flood actually came. Another way to look at it: giants were a reality of life for 2/3 of human history at the time of the flood.
It’s likely that the giants continued to intermingle with “full-blooded” humans throughout this time, leading to a corruption of the human genome; this is why it was significant that Noah was “perfect in his generations” when he was chosen to continue the human bloodline (Genesis 6:9).
My timeline also notes when Genesis 6:3’s pronouncement would have been made, which was Year 1536.

Extra Bible Study: Will Babylon make a comeback in the End Times?
Something else I recorded this week was a study on Zechariah’s 7th night vision, which is found in Zechariah 5:5-11. If you’d like to dive into another (and completely different) subject matter for this week, you can watch right here:
This episode was part of my alternate podcast, God and His Prophets. You can check out the archive of those episodes here.
Until next time, have an epic week- and a Weird Wednesday!
