SEE IT: Mount Hermon, where the Watchers Visited Earth
A Mountain of Evil
This week on the podcast, we started our trek up Mount Hermon to discuss some cosmic geography.
What is Mount Hermon? It’s the site that the Book of Enoch tells us where the Watchers/Sons of God descended to the earth:
And they were in all two hundred; who descended ⌈in the days⌉ of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it.
If you missed that episode, here’s where you can get caught up:
As promised, I’d like to share a few images of Mount Hermon today. Though I haven’t been to Israel myself, at 9,000 feet in height, I’ve heard this mountain is hard to miss. Allow me to be your tour guide for this afternoon…

This is Mount Hermon from a distance, when viewed from the Golan Heights.
But here’s something I thought would be interesting: what does it look like from the top? What did the Watchers see when they came to this planet?

Today, Hermon is also known as Jabal Ash Shaykh.
Mount Hermon actually straddles the border between Syria, Lebanon and Israel, with the peak of Hermon actually on the Lebanon side. Here’s a map that shows this region and the location of the summit of Mount Hermon (identified as Jabal Ash Shaykh on the map).

There are temples up and down this mountain, although they are ancient and not in use anymore.

As I mentioned in Wednesday’s episode, there is literally a ski resort on Mount Hermon today!

At the base of Mount Hermon was Ceasarrea Philippi, the location where Jesus famously stated “on this rock I will build my church.”

All of these images are from Wikimedia Commons, so it’s my understanding that they are fair use (public domain). However, you can view more images of this mountain on its Wikipedia page.
Another Milestone
Last year, after 10 years of uploading videos, my Youtube channel reached 1,000 subscribers. The second thousand came a lot quicker!
I’m eternally grateful to everyone who has given me the privilege of your time, attention and trust, and it’s my prayer that it’s been a benefit to you as well!
This Week - March 11, 2026
We’ll spend one more week studying cosmic geography on the podcast with an exploration of Bashan- the demonic territory where Hermon is located- a place known in biblical times as “the place of the serpent.”

Until then, have a great week- and a Weird Wednesday
