Also: Looking back on a Weird Year
The Best is Yet to Come
Hey everybody, Happy New Year this week! I have a lot planned for this upcoming year, including an in-depth exploration of The Book of Enoch. This is an idea I have teased and kicked around for well over a year now, and I think it’s finally time to get started. Here lately, I have been devouring some commentaries and online teachings about the Book of Enoch.
Enoch’s book is somewhat controversial. My longstanding position on it has been that it’s not Scripture and should not be considered Scripture, yet it’s generally reliable and was taken as truth by Jesus and the New Testament authors.
Since this book is part of the worldview of Jesus and the early church, it will be very illuminating to our understanding of Scripture as we see what it has to say. Some of the “weird stuff in the Bible” has explanation or more context given within the Book of Enoch.
What we will study on this podcast will focus on the first 36 chapters of Enoch, often called 1 Enoch or The Book of the Watchers. That’s because this is the section of Enoch that has the most historical credibility.
If 36 chapters sounds like a lot, don’t worry. Enoch’s chapters are much shorter than Biblical chapters, sometimes just one or two verses. It’s kind of ridiculous how short they are. Also, the majority of our study will be on chapters 1-16. Chapters 17-36 get really short, and we can summarize and cover several of them at a time. But there’s so much meat in those first 16 chapters, and I can’t wait to share some of the things I’m learning with you. Upcoming episode topics will include:
The Days of Noah, According to Enoch
Will We Get a New Name in Heaven?
The Days of Jared
The Mystery of Mount Hermon
A Goat for Azazel
When Jesus Quoted the Book of Enoch
Tongues of Fire
Enoch’s First Rapture
God’s Cosmic Mountain
We’ll have this and so much more, coming soon!
Also, the first episode of 2026 will be an interview with Brian Godawa, author of the Chronicles of the Nephilim series of books, as well as a researcher and expert on extrabiblical literature. That will release January 7 and get us started on all things Enoch.
I’m currently reading his book Enoch Primordial, which has really helped me in understanding how some things may have functioned in the pre-flood world.
After we finish up the Enoch series- which will take up much of the first half of 2026- I plan to return to a couple of other topics we began studying in 2025, including the concept of spiritual legal rights and what was going on with the Tower of Babel. In the background, I will continue to study these things, and I look forward to showing you what I’ve found on things like how curses work, whether generational curses are biblical, and the true purpose of Babel’s ziggurat.
But I need to finally start this Enoch series I’ve been talking about for so long, so those things will need to wait until after I finish it.
Reflections
I have one more episode planned for 2025, but I thought we might go ahead and look back on what we learned this year.
In January and February, I stumbled into a teaching on portals (or spiritual gates) and how those are opened. Quite literally, I just came across Genesis 28 in my daily Bible reading and started asking a lot of questions about it. And it turned out the Word of God also had the answers. There was so much to unpack here, it led to me starting this newsletter where I could share additional insights. Those episodes were #61-64, 71 and 93.
Also in February, I started filling in as the Interim Pastor at a church in Northwest Arkansas, and that continued until the new pastor took over in June. That was a very fun and rewarding season for me, and personally, was probably the greatest season of my life.

I don’t have many pictures from this period but this was a sweet young man I had the honor of baptizing on one of my last Sundays.
In the Summer, I fell into yet another fascinating study on the podcast, which I would define as Spiritual Legal Rights. I learned a lot about how thing operate in the spiritual realm during this time, and it also included an in-depth look at the various ranks of spirits in the Enemy’s kingdom: principalities, authorities, cosmic powers and spiritual forces of wickedness. These episodes were #80-90- and it’s a subject I will absolutely revisit.
Some of my personal favorite episodes this year included:
#58 “Did God really HATE Esau?”
#65 “Daniel’s Wacky Dreams”
#73 “Binding and Loosing Revisited”
#82 “Satan’s Agenda in Eden”
#97 with Beatty Carmichael, author of The Prayer of Freedom
#100 with Michael Miller of Remnant Radio
Based on listener downloads, the most popular episode was #93 “What was the big deal about building a tower to heaven?” Personally, I felt like I provided more questions than answers in that episode, but there’s a lot of interest there, so I have got a hold of some (hopefully awesome) resources to study this out further.
The Numbers Are In
Mathematically, it was a great year for growth on the podcast. I didn’t get any sort of “wrapped” lookback on Apple- which is by far the most popular podcast platform- but I did get some from Spotify, and it was encouraging.

One follower even sent me this from his own Wrapped recap:
So for anyone who’s listened this year, I hope you had a Merry Christmas and that we learned something together. I can’t wait to continue the journey next year and beyond! God bless you all,
